The Oli de Menorca Association was set up in 2014 to support the different producers who were starting out in olive growing and to achieve the production of extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality.
The predominant varieties in Menorca are Arbequina, Picual, Koroneiki and Empeltre among others. The oils from Menorca are characterized by being of excellent quality, with fruity and almond aromas, and intense bitter and spicy touches.
Currently in Menorca we have more than 80 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of olive trees distributed among twenty producers.
Menorca olive oil is registered in the Catalog of Traditional Foods of the Balearic Islands of the Balearic Government.
